Group Fitness Classes & Fitness Center
YMCA Group Exercise Programs bring together people of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels in a fun, supportive environment where they move, groove, and sweat their way toward better well-being.
Group exercise—including strength and conditioning, spin, yoga, tai chi, Zumba, HIIT, TRX, Pound Fit, boxing & kickboxing classes and more - is one of many ways the Y supports members in achieving their health and wellness goals. Trained instructors develop and lead the classes that deliver a fun and effective exercise experience in a supportive group setting. Each has been professionally designed, and all programs evolve with the latest trends in group exercise to keep you motivated and moving!

Fitness Center
The Fitness Center at the Oswego YMCA includes a variety of cardio machines, Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, Cybex circuit equipment, stretching areas, free weights, benches, and a dedicated area for CrossFit workouts that includes Concept 3 rowers, air bikes, rig & racks, boxes and more. In addition, we offer a full boxing/kickboxing facility with a variety of bags, equipment, and a ring. Whatever your need, you can achieve a complete workout at the Oswego YMCA Fitness Center blending strength, flexibility, and endurance.
From questions on using the cardio or weight machines to executing squats and lunges with correct form - the Fitness Center staff is ready to help. As a new member, you will receive three free sessions in our fitness center with a Fitness Center representative to introduce you to the equipment and help you get the most from your workout.
Personal Training
The Oswego YMCA's Certified Personal Trainer's mission is to improve your health and change the way you think and feel about fitness. Training is available during business hours to Oswego YMCA members. Sessions are conducted in the Oswego YMCA or can be combined with additional activities outside of the fitness center.
When you train with a Certified Personal Trainer at the Y, you are making a commitment to a change in lifestyle. You will receive a personally designed program and the motivation & encouragement you need to succeed!
Your Personal Training package will include a consultation, fitness assessment, program design and Bioanalogics- an analysis program designed to input specific client data and produce a body composition report including:
- % of body fat
- % of lean mass
- Basal metabolic rate and more!

Fitness Center Appointments
Your Oswego YMCA membership includes three free one hour sessions with a YMCA Fitness Center trainer. You may schedule your appointments at the Welcome Center.
1st appointment: Equipment orientation and set-up and develop a personalized program.
2nd appointment: Re-evaluate and adjust. Answer any questions you may have concerning your workout.
3rd appointment: Free-weight orientation, evaluate and adjust.
