YMCA Summer Camp 2020
Y Summer Care will offer a safe, fun and unique experience during Covid-19 that gives children the
opportunity to discover their full potential, make new friends, play and create positive memories that
will last a lifetime. Summer Care is for children entering grades K-7.
A TYPICAL DAT AT SUMMER CAMP
Children will be participating in nature hikes, active games with social distancing, arts and crafts, story time, free play and competitions. We will offer free play at the beginning and end of the day that consists of board games, card games, puzzles, legos and more. There will be hand washing between each activity. Each day children will break up into small groups based on age and grade. We offer a theme each week with each day having a theme day. For example, the first week is Creepy Crawlies and we will be learning about ants and making ant farms as part of our craft project that day. During story time we will learn about ants and/or hear stories about ants. During competition play we will have questions about what we learned and/or heard and children will win camp bucks, children that have been well behaved will be awarded a key that day to try for the treasure chest filled with camp bucks. New this year is the camp store where children can spend camp bucks to buy toys and candy. Camp bucks are rewarded for good behavior, answering questions and being a great helper among other things.
